Pinball Hall of Fame - Las Vegas, NV

It’s the middle of the desert. The weather is in the triple digit mark. Casinos and drinks all day and all night, yet Las Vegas has much more to offer. But one can wonder … does it have anything else that’s not Rated-M for Mature or even AO? Well, little do people know that it has one of the most amazing museums this writer has ever seen.
The Pinball Hall of Fame is a dedicated museum that opened its doors in the beginning of 2006. It has since moved to a new location at the end of 2009. With over 150 Pinball machines that are ready to play. With a quarter or two, you can play classics from the 50’s to the 90’s. It’s a gamers’ 10,000 square foot paradise. Anybody from new comers to people that were around when Pinball games where at the top of the arcade spots!
“In the early 1980’s you could have a pile of dog crap hooked up to a video monitor, and people would put a quarter in it for play” So said Tim Arnold (the owner of this magical place). That’s why it was just right to open a place like this and have people come and enjoy themselves. With the help from the Las Vegas Pinball Collector’s Club, DVD sales of “This Old Pinball” (a pinball repair DVD), and many other associations, Tim has been able to keep this magnificent museum open and running for these past 4 years.
Amazingly, when all is paid for (Bills, payroll, and other expenses), Tim donates what he can to the Salvation Army of Las Vegas and some other humble charities. In that sense, all the quarters used to play the games, go to a great cause. Funny thing is that all players are contributing to a charity unknowingly. Who does that?
Pinball machines have been around for many years. And hopefully, stay around for many more to come. Personally, I, myself, am not a great player of pinball machines. Regardless of how easy they may look. But, for some crazy reason, I see a pinball machine, and automatically put a quarter in. Don’t know why, I just do.
The Pinball Hall of Fame Museum is an amazing place that everyone should go visit. Regardless if you’re a pinball enthusiast, you can be sure that you will not be disappointed. Nostalgia will hit you like no other punch! Bring Quarters!
