The small SEGA 32x library isn’t something SEGA should be proud of, well, the whole 32x itself really. However, With Small Print Runs, Come Great Collector Demand. And that’s more than enough to make today’s game one of the most sought out 32X games. Kolibri (European word for Hummingbird), was released in the Christmas season of 1995. Released only for the SEGA 32x, Kolibri is the only shooter on the console/add on.

Being a single player horizontal shooter, it was received with questionable reviews. Many critics claimed to be another great game from Novotrade (Creators of Ecco). Claiming that it was an enjoyable shooter with beautiful graphics and awesome sound.

Truth be told, the game itself isn’t good. At all actually. Well, of course one thing was set true about it. It does boast great graphics and sound. But the game play is boring. The story, enemies, and weapons are just, mundane.

The only reason this game should be in anyones’ library is because of the rarity and value of it. Kolibri is very difficult to find complete and in great condition. When the game is found in said condition, the game on a good day will sell for 60-80 US dollars. Why? Well, first, it’s a shooter. Second, it’s small print run. And third, it’s SEGA. Well, not the last one.

If you happen to find the game, don’t expect it to be a great game. Expect to find a rare game.
